Intro to Human Services: To be completed Summer 2018
Communication Skills: This course had put a whole new perspective on how I interact with people around me. It has taught me to think in not a first person, but rather a customer service aspect and how I can help another person. Dr. Reynoso had found a way to enable us to go out and make a change in the community and not to settle for things that you feel is not positive or helping the community. Learning the philosophical portion of communication helped me understand the strength of communication and how it can be used as an important tool that may take you very far in life.
Financial Management: This course did excellent in providing students the structure overlook of how a non profit organization runs and the aspect of how to be a good employee, but an even better person. It was not all about numbers and arithmetic, but rather how you can use the numbers you have within an organization to expand and to become successful. The business plan was a very interesting project that helped me understand finances and the importance of seeing the types of monies an organization has to take track of. Overall, this call has showed the dimensions of an organization and how to attack different situations.
Professional Development: This course did great at making student’s look into themselves and to truly figure out what makes them happy. Going into a career is not easy to find, unless you truly love what you do. This class helps the student understand their types of characteristics of what makes someone special and uses those characteristics to find what someone can do to make a positive impact into the world. I learned more about what I really want to do as a Nurse Practitioner and it helps to be a better person to others by helping them learn what they enjoy.
Social Research Methods: This course taught me the basic foundation of researching with people. This class has taught me an efficient way to maneuvering through the internet to find what’s needed within research. Dr. Abore did a terrific job of guiding us through our research paper and gave tons of support to finish the project.
Senior Seminar: In progress Spring 2017
Contemporary Writing: Taken at Mission College. This course was used to elevate my writing and critical thinking while being creative.
Workplace Coaching: This class was taken on a Saturday in Fall 2017. I learned a lot in how to be able to handle issues in a workplace. It also teaches students how to coach others who need to meet a goal. This class helped me understand how to help others get through their own trials and tribulations.
